Burrito bites

It’s been another stormy week in commodityland™, as the election and a nor’easter have caused extreme turbulence for oil and natural gas respectively. Oil rallied prior to the election result, only to immediately look ahead to a looming ‘fiscal cliff’ and sell off with vehemence. As for natty, it has moved lower in the face of inclement conditions in the Northeast, as it looks to better times next week and record storage. Enough looking back, here comes the weekend and the snacks:

And The Survey Says…

This latest collection of random observations has been sponsored by the University of Texas, and their energy poll which was released last week. The results of 2,100 respondents have been weighted to reflect the demographics of the US. Now I’m not even going to touch the political Q&As with a barge pole, (although you can see them all here), because frankly there are a number of much more fascinating topics to consider. Burrito bites

Happy Halloween weekend, as we make it to the end of another week. General markets have surprisingly been shy of both scares and bears, as the cup of positive sentiment overfloweth after European leaders managed to defer their problems carve out a last minute agreement to halve the value of Greek debt and inflate the Euro bailout fund to €1 trillion (whoop! whoop! let’s party!). The crude complex has rallied like a banshee on hope, hope, and hope², while natural gas has seen a stronger December contract roll onto the board and run higher as the first bout of winter (hark, snow for NY) hits the US. Enjoy the weekend, enjoy the frights; but for now..burrito bites:  » read more
