Burrito bites

Good Day! We are steam-rollering through May, with sights set on June; – eventfulness is set to be delivered by the bucketload, from an Opec meeting chaired by Iranian leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (no, seriously), to the start of US hurricane season and the increasing influence of cooling demand on natural gas. As for this week, we have seen decidedly mixed economic data and demand destruction fears keep crude choppy but rangebound, while natural gas has been ushered lower by a lack of weather-driven demand and a bite out of the storage deficit for the first time in two months. Anyhow, let’s chow:

–US shale gas may be refined into diesel, jet fuel.

–High gas prices are part of the plan. (h/t Walt Taylor)

–Infographic on do students eat like prisoners? (h/t L Bates)

–13 ways to save on gas this summer (caveat: some good, some dumb)

–India must outbid China, Japan for LNG.

Plain shale sailing.

–14 buildings made from plastic bottles.

–Making the internet greener, by dunking servers in mineral oil.

–Psychedelic light paintings from the motherland.

–IEA urges Opec to increase oil production.

A third of world’s food is wasted.

–China suspends export of diesel fuel amid shortage.

–Tidal energy – the UK’s best kept secret.

Towing icebergs across oceans to provide fresh water.

Hunting tips when at the Marcellus Shale (h/t L Bates)

–Absolutley brilliant – little toy figures posed with food.

The Burrito Deluxe Award of the Week goes to natural gas storage, which finally managed to reduce the deficit to last year for the first time in nine attempts.

The Burnt Burrito Award of the Week goes to me for questioning Tom Kloza a few burrito bites ago…he said the national retail price of gasoline wouldn’t break $4…and it got to $3.985 and reversed. Bravo Tom on a prescient call; consider my knuckles well and truly rapped.

Have a stellar weekend!
